According to the reader Johnboy from over at our partner site leedsfest.org, Rage Against the Machine are almost certainly confirmed for the Festival weekend . The band have already been rumoured, but we now have this extra piece of information thanks to an anonymous worker from Festival Republic

Apparently Less Than Jake could be making an appearance at Reading Festival 2008.
The American ska punk band from Gainesville, Florida originally formed in 1992 as a power pop trio, before finally evolving into a third-wave ska and punk band.
My Chemical Romance for Reading Fesitval 2008
My Chemical Romance have been rumoured for Reading Festival 2008.Did you know that the band was formed only a week after September the 11th. Front man Gerard Way’s life was so influenced by the attacks that he wanted to make a band!
At the moment there is nothing on their official website about them playing at Leeds.
NOFX strong rumour for Reading Festival 2008
NOFX have been listed as a strong rumour for Reading Fesitval 2008.
The band last played the festival weekend back in 2005. The american Punk/Rock band have independently sold over 6 millon records worldwide.
The Verve rumoured for Reading 2008
The Verve are rumoured for a slot at this years Leeds Festival.
The Manchester band enjoyed success in the mid 90’s with the album “Urban Hymns”, and its single “Bitter sweet symphony.” Soon after this commercial peak, the band split up because of creative struggles. However they reformed in June 2007 and apparently have a new album coming out sometime in 2008.
Carling no longer beer of Reading Festival
We can now all look forward to a nicer pint at Reading Festival 2008.
After a nine year partnership Festival Republic announced that Carling will no longer be the headline sponsor or official lager of the Reading and Leeds festivals. Apparently it was part of a “mutual agreement” that will give both companies new opportunities.
Greenday for Reading Festival 2008
Greenday, could be making an appearance at Reading Festival, according to the designer of the official Greenday website. The American Punk/Rock trio are strongly rumoured for one of the three headline slots this year.
