Line-up Predictions for Reading Festival 2009
Even though we have only just seen the end of Reading Festival 2008, there are already rumours flooding in about Reading festival 2009.
Here are some of the bands that we think are tipped to play the next festival:
Slipknot ‘Strong Rumour’ For Reading 2008
efestivals.com and various other festival orientated websites have reported that
The American nu metal band from Des Moines have nothing on their website at the moment. Under tour dates it literally says “To Be Announced.”
Luckily now we only have seven days until all the rumours are uncovered!
Gallows Rumoured for Reading Festival 2008
The Gallows are the latest band to join the ever expanding rumours list for Reading Festival 2008.
The English hardcore punk band from Watford released their first album “Orchestra of Wolves” in 2005 and have since released nothing. Maybe there is something new on the horizon?
Have you Heard About The Strokes?
Have you heard the latest information about The Strokes?
Well apparently they could be making an appearance at Leeds Festival 2008. Various websites including virtualfestivals.com and efestivals.com have marked the band as a rumour. The New York band that formed in 1998 have been credited as “Saving rock” and “Starting a garage-rock revival.”
I’ve been trying to gather some information about the rumour. It appears that the last album they released was First impressions from Earth, nearly a year ago. A little too far away to still be touring. Does anyone know if they have something new coming out?
Want the Foo Fighters at Reading Festival?
Do you want to see the Foo Fighters as part of this years Leeds Festival lineup? Well you have a good chance of seeing them according to virtual festivals.
The Grammy award winning American rock band are rumoured for a headline slot.
The Coral Could Play Reading Festival
The Liverpool based band, The Coral have been rumoured a slot at this years Leeds Festival weekend. Interestingly this is the second Liverpool based band that have been rumoured this week, the other act being The Wombats.
The last album that the Coral released was “Roots & Echoes” on August 6th 2007, a little old to be promoting at this years summer festivals. However, they do have a rich and diverse back catalog which I’m sure they could still use to please a big crowd. Songs such as “Dreaming of You” and “In the Morning” really are timeless.
The Wombats for Reading Festival 2008
The Wombats, a three piece indie band from Liverpool could be making an appearance at this years Reading Festival.
The three members Matthew Murphy, Dan Haggis and Tord Øverland-Knudsen met at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and kicks-started their professional career when the school gave them a chance to play in China in front of more than 20 000 people. Apparently this was one of the first times the band had left the UK to play. Before this they had been traveling around England in a clapped-out Vauxhall, trying to promote their music themselves.
The Verve and Metallica in Headline battle
It is possible that the metal band, Metallica could be playing one of the headline slots. The rumours assume that they will play instead of The Verve, making the headliners Metallica, Rage Against the Machine and Kasabian.
Oasis Rumoured for Reading Festival 2008
The Manchester Based band Oasis, have been rumoured to play at Reading Festival this year. I don’t know how likely this is with such big names being suggested for the headline slots. I can’t imagine them NOT playing a headline slot either. I’ll keep you posted on this one.
